The Chief Secretary to the Government should step in to resolve the attire issue

I have read the explanation given by Hospital Kampar director, Dr khairul azha Azam.          I think it deserves some scrutiny. Although none of us were there at the scene, and it is now a "she says, they say" kind of story, anyone with a right frame of mind would not believe what was being said.           Should the case be even brought to court, the Honorable Judge would have to weigh the facts.           Here was a lady who was rushed to the hospital nearly midnight. She must be in a critical situation, or else, she would be spending the evening with her friends having teh tarik after the badminton game.          The medical officer should have immediately given her the medical treatment instead of ensuring that she was "well-dressed for the occasion."           To me, her explanation is simply not plausible, and if anything, it was just too lame for the Honourable Judge to accept.           If the woman had been told that the medical officer will provide the

What another issue about attire? Now, it’s the hospital!

By Stephen Ng   Just less than two weeks ago, a complainant had brought to light her problem with attire when she was not allowed to enter the District Police Headquarters to lodge a police report.          Understandably, she had had an accident, and wanted to lodge the police report before settling down at home.          Now, a young woman who was suffering from acute stomach pain was refused treatment at the emergency centre of the Kampar Hospital by a nurse, just because she was still wearing her pair of short pants when rushed to the hospital.          Understandably, she was at a badminton game, and having sharp stomach pain, she could not have gone home to change to a proper attire before entering the hospital.          I see this as a problem of lack of compassion for a sick patient, and where the nurse is concerned, she had no rights to refuse the young woman the medical treatment that she needed just because of her attire.          Her attitude is deplor

Take heed. Please do not bribe any officers these days

Take heed. Please do not bribe any officers these days.  More cases are now being addressed, which is good. Hopefully, in the country, it will be much easier for businesses people to operate their businesses. Some unnecessary licenses can be done away with. Deadlines can be set for the officers to approve or reject a license, instead of longer waiting periods.  Any other good suggestions?  https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2023/02/14/3-hospital-workers-jailed-over-bribes-to-secure-funeral-services/ https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2023/02/12/umrah-quota-syndicate-macc-arrests-md-of-tour-agency/ https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/2023/02/14/in-melaka-man-charged-with-receiving-over-rm100000-from-transport-companies-as-inducement-for-jpj-officers/54886 https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2023/02/14/macc-probes-finances-of-former-minister-linked-to-pandora-papers/ https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2023/02/13/university-s

From Hak Milik Sementara to Geran

Image
What you should be getting is Geran (above), not  Hakmilik Sementara (below) Housebuyers are usually very ignorant. They are issued Qualified Titles, not it should be -- the Title Deed or Grant.           For this discussion, we will only focus on Geran and Hakmilik Sementara. It is not the 99-year-old lease title or freehold title. Please don't talk about this in this blogpost. Leasehold and Freehold is a state matter, not a federal issue that the Minister can handle.           Look at your document to see if you have the words 'Hakmilik Sementara' or 'Geran.' This is important.           'Geran' means that the title is complete. 'Hakmilik Sementara' means that your developer has not carried out the survey yet or submitted the survey to the Land Office so that your individual titles (or 'Geran') can be issued. Because the Survey has not carried out yet, the title issued to you is 'Hakmilik Sementara' (or Qualified Title).

999 Went to the Police District Headquarters

Back in 1990s, or maybe early 2000s, I stopped by the accident victims in Seremban. Trying to contact 999 on my Mobile phone, no one picked up the call.           This was what triggered me to carry out a campaign after I learnt that the phone call went to the local Police District Headquarters instead of the usual Emergency Call Centre, where one would expect to seek help from ambulance, police or the fire and rescue services.           I later learnt from Maxis that the mobile phone users had to use 112 for its emergency call centre, instead of 999. This is because the company operating the call centre did not allow telcos to use 999.            That is why when I made the 999 call that evening, the phone rang but there was no one in the office! After all, the staff at the police district headquarters were not meant to handle such calls. And it was already past working hours.           For nearly two years, I wrote about this issue in Malay Mail and contacted then ministe
